In some ways, I agree with Paul in that some projects can be accomplished with knowing all the details in his head. But one question I have is how would he do this by implementing a new multinational infrastructure or large web service with an Oracle database backend? If he was doing it himself, he would be correct. But on all large projects, this is not the case.

The second question is if he does it all, how he expects to move on to new projects and positions. He would always be called upon to correct any problems in the new system and has no opportunity to train his replacement so he can move on to bigger and better things.
