How to add narration to PowerPoint presentations

Thanks for this article. This feature will help me develop IT manager training modules to complement my books and articles offered at www.mde.net/cio.

I think it has significant application for anyone that provides training programs.

I have occasion to make audio recordings of lectures. How can I link the images to the running narrative? Do I need to pause the narrative for each slide or can I trigger the slides at pre-assigned spots in the narrative?

When I try to add sound from the PPT default sounds available. The sound just keeps looping.
Also, I get a Microphone in use by other program error. Any help?

Developing your presentation on one machine and presenting it on another can affect the synchronization between narration and slide changes. It's best to develop on the same machine you'll use for the presentation (or at least one with the same memory and processor.)

In Power Point 07 I cannot find the useful feature in PP 03 that identified the file number of a linked sound file by right clicking on the sound icon at the lower right corner of the slide. This made it possible to edit the WAV file in an audio editor and save it back to the audio files folder in its new form. Is this gone?

Ok, once I've followed the directions above to include narration, can I "re-insert" animations?
