So your costs for the PMP will run from $455 to as high as $8555 (assuming you don't go for the MBA option). That's why PMI can't really give you a meaningful cost. I know two people who spent about $2000 CDN, one who spent about $5500 US and I spent about $700 CDN($50 for the RMC book and $405 US for the test, the MCPM preceeded the PMP by two years).
Same thing applies to your PDUs. If you're a member of PMI obtaining PDUs can be quite inexpensive (like $0). Otherwise you figure a minimum of $1500/40 or $1000 per year in training.
