Compression on T1 circuit

I want to use compression from a central site to a remote. I am not sure whether to use stacker or predictor for this circuit. The T1 circuit is very slow and it is a point to point connection using encap hdlc. Which technique would be better and can I use it on any bandwidth circuit?
