Those are extreme examples
AV . 29th Oct 2005
I think I've been several of those types at different times in my career, but never to that extreme.

If I had to choose one, it would be Mr. Safety. I do think of the network as mine to oversee and have become paranoid about security, but I think that is probably a good thing.

I have also met the out-of-my-depth administrator before, several times. The gamesmasters I've met were usually programmers and not net admins.

I think I'd like to see more types of net admins. I know I have met admins that have stupidadminitis and disappearingadminitis. Also, maybe there could be questions that the reader would answer that could help them ascertain what type they are most like.

I like the article because it pokes fun at how being a net admin can eventually make you crazy even if you aren't already.

I'm not sure

what you would call me, i'm worse than any of those.

games not allowed.
installing your own software?
no way.
after you build your system from scratch, ( linux from scratch os only ) i change root password and you'll never get anything installed on it again, until rebuilding the entire os to install security patch.

what's wrong with having a couple of dozen mouse balls tucked away against need?

usb ports? not even on the system.
a cd reader only for drives. ~l~
other than the hard drive of course.
network cable is hard wired into the system so it can't be unplugged.

if i don't like the configuration of your system, i'll change it, and you are locked out of altering it.

I could go on about how nasty I am, but I think I proved I'm worse than any in the download?
