VPN and LAN

I have tired this way,
current net work 192.168.16.0/24
with this netowkr the internet is connected. Once i connected i lost all LAN. i added the second NIC with different netowrk(10.0.0.0) connected to interent.. so i can access my lan.
i read in cisco website , if we enable split tunneling this problem can be solved. Is it secured that enabling split tunneling?

Thanks

I am using Win2K professional and vpn client 4.0

Now when I connect to VPN, I can not access my local network. Please tell me how I could access local intranet when connected to VPN.

Thanks
I think you are talking about the cisco VPN client.
This is a default setting in de VPN server.
I have heard you can change this in the VPN server but i do not now how.

It is enought to change a parameter in the pcf configuration file

uncomment the followin line
Enablelocallan=1
I have also changed the "Enablelocallan=0"
to "Enablelocallan=1", But still i cannot access the local resources.
you will need to enable split tunneling on the vpn server. There is some risk to this because you do expose you local lan to the company lan through the vpn tunnel.
I have same problem . once i connects the VPN client , i lost all my LAN and internet connection. But i edited the PCF file and now i can access the LAN but htere is no interent that time. Could any one can help me?

I had this problem until I enabled a 2nd network adapter to run RAS separate from the server's standard LAN adapter.
