The presentation is very simple and straightforward. Most staff in my company can't handle anything more technical!!
I've been meaning to do something similar for the employees in my company, but this will save me some time. Thanks

Excellent beginner info. A presentation like that could / should be built into orientation days / initial training for recruits in many companies.
I work for an IT support company - several of my clients could benefit from this. Their recruits can have a look at this just before they sign their acceptable use policy.

This was a compilation of things I've come across in e-mail. What other types have things have you come across that you can / should add to a presentation such as this?
The zip file was corrupt, can I gat a copy from someone?
"Send private message" and request that I e-mail you the file.
It should work now. I've also included a PDF version of the file. Please post here if this doesn't work for you, or click my username and then click "Send private message" to send me an e-mail. Thanks, Jason
I would add a slide or two about the pitfalls of sharing your e-mail address for non-business purposes. Getting users to understand that when they sign up for something on the web using their company's e-mail address for non-business purposes only serves to feed the SPAM monster. I have three users here who are responsible for 90% of the SPAM we get because of their carelessness.
I'll be adding this to our curriculum.

Your presentation is great! I would like to share it with our staff by making it available through our Center news information distribution system and eventually via our Intranet. May I have your permission to do so or is there some formal process that is required or more appropriate?

Ultimately, we want you to able to use this and share it with your colleagues. We only ask that you keep the TechRepublic logo and copyright information on the document and that you don't distribute it outside your company. Thanks, Jason
Well for me anyway, the logo is not coming through, just the nice red 'X' that indicates a missing graphic, so it seems the is something amiss.
Also, are there any issues to adding to the content? For instance, for spam avoidence a trick I use for those sites that "require" an email address is to setup a 'free' email account with Yahoo, Hotmail, etc and use that. This way I can receive the info I need, but never have to check it again if I don't want to.
This is a nice presentation though, thanks for making it available.

The powerpoint presentation is good, however I believe it also may be lacking. Or so I believe it is. I could be wrong, just let me know your thoughts on this. ...
When closing a download it is common knowledge that the bad guys set the download up, so regardless of how you click to deny the download "ok" or "no" it is always a "yes you accept". Maybe you need to teach the public on how to get out of this situation? Crooks today have found ways around not accepting the download.

It's well presented, gives just the right amount of information, easy to look at and read.
Can we post on our intranet with the logo and copyright? Can we modify it at all. Internal only, not going outside our agency.
Thanks!
