1. what about viewing Gmail messages in your aggregator:

2. Huge Inbox

The huge inbox is very useful if you want to put large files on the internet. Google may restrict the size of attachments but you can use WinZip to split files and easily attach 15mb per email (3 x 5mb). You can just email these back to your own gmail account and collect them from anywhere.

Google does not endorse the use of third party software that interact with Gmail directly

but they seem to tolerate it. You can always use a seperate account for "testing purposes".

One such application is the "GMail Drive shell extension". This allows access to your Gmail store via the Windows explorer interface.

3. Missing features

Of course some of the most useful features are not there yet, like the ability to collect mail from all my other ISP's via POP or IMAP.

My killer google feature is not an email feature but the SMS service. You can text "SW7 2AP to SW3 1BB" to 6GOOG (64664)in the UK or GOOGL in the US (46645) and it will text you back traffic directions. You can use it for currency and other things too.
