Its not a bad idea to put in some form encryption so if the Laptop does go walkabout at least any sensitive information is protected. We use Cryptainer which places a "secure virtual Drive" on the Laptops hard drive. You can also put it on a flash drive.

Hrm- I really like the pre-trip checklist. Of course I do all of the checking and teaching before the client leaves, but I think I'll laminate a list I can leave in the travel bag now. Include troubleshooting to a few common, easily remedied problems...
