[My reactions] and answers

1) [Uh oh! A sweatshop.] Uh... Yea, great.

2) [Yup, definitely a sweathop. Salary better be good ... awww, the very idea! I'm wasting my time here.] Um... I work hard all the time

3) No problem, I'm used to that.

4) No problem, I'm doing it all the time.

5) [Changes!? What changes? It's not changes, it's cycles, you moron! I've seen them all, and you've seen nothing.] I'm very good at this, I handle them excellently. Really.

6) [Awwww, ****! Not just a sweatshop, but also a sweatshop without resources. **** that! What movie? I don't watch stupid movies] No, I'm afraid not.

7) In a very cool headed manner [Of course, it's just a ******* job!]

8) [That I should change profession while there was still time. What the hell am I doing here anyway?] That a hard work and focus on the business side of IT still offer a good opportunites in this field, blah blah blah ...

9) [None. I hate people] I've worked with all kinds of people. I mostly get along with all of them, especially blah blah blah ...

10) [I've been in this profession for ages, I've been through all cycles it made, and I don't need to stay current. I am as current as it gets. Whatever. I'll just drivel about the techno fad du jour] blah blah blah ...

11) [I'm doing it right now. This suxx.] Self extracting oscillation based modulator for extermination of defibrillators blah blah blah ...

12) [***SIGH*** This doesn't make sense anymore. First, he expects me to scrounge for the stuff I need for my work, and than he asks me about my ideas of an ideal job. What a *********************** hypocrite! If I have to beg, I'll rather beg on the street. Oh, well... Guess I can become openly sarcastic now] Horse farming.

13) I'd be a pet psychic.

. . . Don't worry, I won't call you. You'll call me!? Yeah, suuuure.

Good to see some questions that drill down and ask searhing questions. However as someone who has done more than a fair share of interviews I would like to suggest that these questions will always give you the response that the candidate will either want you to hear to make them look good, or giver you the answer the candidate thinks you want to hear.

In HR circles there is a phrase that says "past performance predicts future behavior", which means that you should be looking to see what a person has done(by there own effort and not that of others)and how they accomplished it. Look for there actual role in the fantastic project they are telling you about - are they an active member of the team or relating what they have observed from the sideline!

If the candidate has had the experience they will be able to fill out all the details otherwise you will be faced with a vague explanation and sweeping comments that have no real substance.

Sorry I can go on for hours on this subject so I will call a halt there. I hope this will be useful.

Just another form of DISCRIMINATION!!!...the type that can get through loopholes in the laws.:|

...>"past performance predicts future behavior"... MAY be so in a FEW cases but most people are job hunting in order to BETTER themselves and their position in their lives. They are looking for a step UP and/or a change for the better in their professional and personal lives. ALL of you "HR" people need to actually REMEMBER what it was like for YOU when you WERE looking for a job.;)

When it all comes down to brass tacks, business is in business to MAKE MONEY and WE 'peons' work for business to MAKE MONEY in order to survive in this world.

As a job seeker I don't give a ratz pah-toot about anything except what it takes for me to do that job to the best of my ability. I don't care about anything else!!! After all, I wouldn't be applying for that particular job if I didn't have reasonable confidence that I could actually DO that job and do it GOOD enough to be an asset to my employer. What?...you say, "Bad attitude."??? MAYBE (...uh, according to WHO???...), but THAT is REALITY for me and everyone I have ever known in my life.

So, HR, LIGHTEN up and interview about the POSITION to be filled and NOTHING ELSE!!!;)
