Sure we'd all like to be perfect in the eyes of our superiors. But since we're human, we can't be perfect. Taking responsibility for mistakes is the next best thing. Owning up to a mistake made, and then doing your best to fix it shows the character that businesses want.
Also, don't be afraid to say "I don't know" when you don't know an answer. Followed with "I'll try to find out" also shows that you have the willingness to learn and grow to the needs of the company.
