I thought I had heard about most of the
methodologies. I will have to see if it really exists. The most I know about is Lean Software development by the Popendick's (sp?) I will have to look for the correct spelling. They published a book on it in 2003. It is based on migrating the Lean principles from Lean manufacturing to Software Development.

Six Sigma is anthying but Lean in any way. I work in a company now that thinks it applies to IT. Steve Bennett, who is running Intuit software, came from GM and implemented Six Sigma there. The article on this was a few years ago during the down turn in IT jobs.

Basically, the front lines were interviewed all the way up to Bennet. The Bennet and his managers were all thrilled with it and how it was working. The front line made it clear that as soon as the market opened up, they would leave. They didn't like the changes and it was hurting their productivity. They were very demotivated by it.

I am not saying that PM methodology shouldn't be used, but it should be used to improve efficiency and motivate.

Thanks for bringing it up about this new one for me to look into.
