Find As You Type
whollyfool 19th Apr 2006
Has anyone tried the Find As You Type offering on the Options | Accessibility Menu? It allows you to surf while almost-but-not-quite-never touching the mouse. You just type the text on the link you want, it is highlighted and you press Enter to follow. You can find text or links, including buttons. You don't have to press Ctrl-F, or any other key combination first, just start typing.

I've been waiting a long time for this. :-D

Bad Link?
GSteve 29th Jul 2005
Was it just me, or did anyone else get an error when they tried to grab this download? I have been downloading all of these "Keyboard Shortcut" files during the past couple weeks, and this is the first one that hasn't worked.

Could somebody over there in TechRepublic-land check to make sure the link is typed correctly?

The link I am showing is:

... so I'd be grateful if someone could fix it happy

Sorry for the confusion and trouble you've experienced with the "70+ Keyboard shortcuts to move faster in Mozilla Firefox" list. The original link is correct, but was not correctly associated with the PDF. The file is now available.

Thanks to everyone who let us know about the problem. I will alert those who attempted, but were unable to download the list that we have resolved the problem.

differences
apotheon 9th Mar 2006
There are some differences between the way Firefox works on Windows and how it works on other OSes. For instance, on Linux, one would use Ctrl + W to close a tab (or to close the browser entirely if there's only one tab open). Ctrl + F4 also works, as reported, but is a bit more of a stretch for the fingers.

It would be helpful if this were titled "70+ Keyboard shortcuts to move faster in Mozilla Firefox for Windows".

Or else come up with a version for the Mac and combine the two.
