Smoothly integrate your Mac OS X worksta
I have no Os X Server. Is ther anything needed to set this up if there are no MAc Os X Servers? I have tried foolowing the mac articles to setup AD logins, but it never seems to work. The mac client uses the Win2K server for DNS, and nslookup shows it is the name server. I have set up all the Schema Attributes and classes. When I use lookupd -d and use the userWithName: testUser command I get no information for the test user I have setup in AD. I have added the UniqueID on the account addall the scheme attributes, but still the client is unable to login through AD. Any suggestions. It is as if the client is not talking to the LDAp server at all. I have tried LDAP V2 and V3 I have tried with OS X 10.1 and 10.2 I have rebuilt the test server from scratch several times. I have Tried with SP2 and SP3. Nothing seems to change. I am not even that worried about home directories I just want the user to be able to login using the AD account. I have tried with the client as a dhcp client and as a static client. I am using private Ip's ie 10.x.x.x wiht the AD server as the first DNS as well as the only DNS server. I have tried using an internet domain as well as a non internet domain. Nothing changes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
