Removing Microsoft Bootvis
To remove Bootvis, re-run the bootvis.msi installation program and choose the Remove option. Alternatively, you may remove Microsoft Bootvis from the Add/Remove programs Control Panel Applet.

use google
I tried Bootvis and to look at the boot sequence it worked great. When I tried to use optomize a warning screan popped up "Timeout waiting for program to start" I clicked "ok" and another screan popped up saying defrag wouldn't start. Any explaination of this would be appreciated. I am running X P with SP2.
Thanks,
Jeff
Clear and concise - a dying art.
where's the f'ing link to download?
Here's an interesting situation. My PC is taking 3 hours to boot with XP Pro with SP 3. Yep, that's three hours to the log in screen. It's been getting worse for some time now. I recently installed another copy of XP Pro on the computer and it boots perfectly. Now to my question, I ran bootvis and came up with traces which show no boot or driver activity whatsoever. Disc activity began at approx 6.4 seconds, continued to about 20 seconds and halted until about 3464 seconds where activity started again. Processes were reported at 3948 seconds until ending at about 4000 seconds. Strangely enough, this does not total the three hours it takes to boot. Any ideas? Anyone?
some times, it can be done by de bios standby options for harddisks

try to load optimised defaults in bios, then make a defragmentation on disk with windows, and uninstall all the ******** that's loaded at boot, (like, NVidia tray icon, or Nokia PC suite.. or whaterver)

or, try to install a fresh clean copy of Windows
(btw, what is the buid of SP3 ? it is the latest?)
BootVis is no longer readily available from MS
