Good article, but check the math
I really appreciate all the time and energy that goes into the articles from Mr. McPherson. That said, either I'm still drunk from last night (very possible) or the example for calculating bandwidth under "What's a bus?" has a few errors.
1) 1,000 MHz was probably meant to read 1 MHz.
2) That would still be wrong if you were trying to end up with 1MBps. M in MHz is not the same as M in MB. A bus with an 8 bit data width would need a 1.048576MHz cycle rate to have a bandwidth of 1MBps.
