Hello all,
Sysprep is a very valuable tool for Win2k deployment. However, the version contained on the Win2K CD is 1.0. This version is limited because of its dependency on having HAL, ACPI, and mass storage devices that are exactly the same or similar.
Well folks, there is a new version that is available from Microsoft, Sysprep 1.1 for Windows 2000. This version no longer has the HAL or mass storage limitations. You can implement support for your optional HALs and mass storage devices in the Sysprep.ini file. This is very much like a Unattend.txt file that you all may know.
If you intend to use Sysprep, I would highly recommend that you go to the microsoft.com website and search for "Sysprep 1.1" or navigate to the Deployment Pages for Win2K.
