Has anyone looked at SQL Server 2005 Express?
How does it compare to MySQL?
Still wonder why should we go for MySql instead of some other DataBase... This article is a well written guide to start a connection to Mysql with .NET.. which is a help for people who want to migrate their website from any other web language (php, asp, even just html, etc) to .NET ...
So, they would mention something in the title like "first steps working with .Net and Mysql" or something like that.. otherwise.. the author should improve the reasons why people would prefer to choose this combination.. dont u think?
you have started the lecture saying that it is a powerful combination apart from price consideration because google is using it, but after that you never told what advantages it offers which others do not offer, apart from price consideration. you lecture has been shifted to how to make connections to mysql just like as you make connections to other sql servers. and then finally you concluded that it is powerful combination. i think the title to this lecture should 'how to make connections to mysql in .Net'.
this article makes no compelling reason for using MySQL and .Net

Although sekhar's criticism seems harsh, I too found the title misleading. I work with MySQL and PHP and was expecting to find a comparison of that and MySQL/ASP.NET. In that sense I was disappointed. Taken as a description of how to connect to MySQL with ASP.NET, the article was well prepared.
