Are you developing Web applications and services for mobile devices? What problems have you encountered? What is your assessment of the mobile device market; should all developers be creating apps for this platform?
To Mark,

I have just started developing wap pages with the aim of getting into developing dynamic web apps. At the moment I have been playing around with text/images im xhtml and tested them on a mobile emulator. One problem that I am encountering is that when using images in different handsets I dont know how to make the mobile browser rescale an image. If you look at bmw.mobi they have managed to pull it off. I have tried using percentages and leaving the image width and height blank but not working. How can I resolve this problem. I designed the page in xhtml. Also, to answer your question I think the market is hugh for creating mobile web applications. The number of mobile web users will far out number standard web users so I think developers should be thinkin about the hugh benefits of this market as it will be massive. I develop sites for standard web and know the beneifts. But when you can deliver dynamic web content for mobiles then the mobile device will be alot more than just a calling device. Thats why google have jumped on the bandwagon.

Regards

Unfortunately more have not commented on this article. I did a wap site only once & that was a long time ago when it first came out. Now I need to do a wap site & really haven't found much info on doing them.

Links to useful info would be great! Thanks for this article.
