The process includes not just export, but also import the data back. And importing of binary data takes ton of time.
By the way we are using fastreader for fast export / import: www.wisdomforce.com
Fastreader exporting oracle tables into flat files (comparing to data pump does into binary) and then import with sqlldr* takes much less time

Part of the new Data Pump based export and import is the estimate that is done on the size of the job. This seems very time-consuming. Does anybody know if this can be turned off or sped up in any way?
Will be helpful if there is a test demo explaining these Data pump operations.
how can you know the status of an ongoing jobs?
Hello, does anyone know how to import a dump file to a different server when the file paths are different. When I try to import with data pump, I recieve error messages. Thanks.
