How do I get Windows Explorer - Details - View question?

so here's the question, using MS Windows Explorer, Details View, and using 'Bit Rate' column, on my desktop under an 'audio' folder my mp3 music library does not show any information. (winxp sp2 NTFS) but on my laptop same Folder settings (same OS NTFS) the Bit Rate information is displayed for both audio (mp3) and for video files (avi, mpeg). I checked the running services and they are both running the same ones.
uhm so I guess here's the question, how do I get the 'Bit Rate' column info to display on my desktop?
any help would be nice o.0

Showing Bit Rate
Open your folder where you music is
On the right hand side window.
Right click on "Name" a drop menu with all kinds of column information should show up.
Select "bit rate" that should be it.
