Link to another Excel workbook
Open both workbooks and make sure the destination workbook which will contain the link to the other workbook, is saved. Select the cell you want to link from. If you want to set up a formula, enter the equal sign, or if the link is in the middle of a formula, type in the operator or the function preceding the reference to the other workbook.
Click the Window menu and select the name of the other workbook and click the worksheet that contains the cell you want. Select the cell. Press the Enter key or finish the formula in the destination worksheet.
The reference looks like this:
=[ss1.xls]Sheet1!$A2$2.

Copying Excel cells
Now copy the formula in the destination worksheet. For example, if the data in your source workbook is in a column (e.g. A2:a10), and your destination is C2:c10, then set the formula in our destination to =[ss1.xls]Sheet1!A2 for cell C2 and copy it down. Your destination c2:c10 will be the same as your source a2:a10.
