Hi,
Microsoft recently released a pack of security patches and since them my notebook (HP TC1100) can no longer see the drives on my desktop or use the USB printer.
The notebook connects wirelessly to a router and connects through to the Internet fine, but won't connect to the other machine on the home network.
Not only that, but it has stopped connecting to a PnP network storage link I've got either.
The desktop can still see the NSL, but cannot connect to the latop.
Everything was working fine, but seemed to stop working when Microsoft most recent selection of 18 security patches were installed.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Matt.

May be router issue
I'm no expert, but I had a similar thing happen to prevent my home wireless network PCs from seeing my print. I tried a firmware upgrade for my router, and it started working again. You can try the router firmware upgrade - it can't hurt.

Microsoft Home Network stopped working after security patches
Mine stopped working sometime after Feb. this year. And a friends has also stopped working. I have renamed the workgroup, re-shared files and printers, started every service I can think of related to netwroking, killed the MS firewall on both machines, etc, etc, Alas, no joy.

Same happening to me. My Windows XP Pro (SP2) has been stable until about 2 weeks ago. Now the wireless adapter just shuts off on its own (LEDs go out) and nothing I do can revive it short of a hard reboot (soft reboot now hangs towards end).
This happened when I was using an Airlink AWLL3026 Ultra Slim USB 2.0 Adapater. I then hooked up a Microsoft MN-710 instead and same thing is happening
Any ideas of how to diagnose/resolve??
Thanks!
Jonathan
