Hi,
I can't remember what I did but now when I receive messages in my Preview window of my inbox i see a box that I can click on that says "Download the rest of the message" I'd like to turn this off. Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

Outlook 2007 send/receive settings
This feature is in Send/Receive Settings -- Edit. There are several options. Select the one that best suits your needs.

Since it has been 5 & 1/2 years since the OP asked this question,
it is a pretty safe bet to say they found the answer...no need to
awaken a sleeping zombie.
