local to domain profiles Office issues

We have recently switched from using workgroups to a domain. I've managed to get the local user profiles copied to the new domain profile. Everything works fine on most computers, but some are having problems opening Word documents from their icons in My Documents and others are unable to open attachments from Outlook. The program associated with the attachment opens, but the actual document/spreadsheet never shows. At first I thought it was a permissions problem, but it is also happening to another administrator (both local and domain). Any ideas as to why this is happening?

still would recheck security permissions
Make certain the files, application and new user profile has proper permissions. Consider how your migration was done and if you reapplied permissions correctly. In the case of outlook especially recheck the path of the pst file, ensure that temp directories are accessible. there could be an inheritance problem with some files.
