My Gateway desktop wont boot up automatically

My Gateway desktop does not automaticaaly boot up. When I turn It on It asks me if I want to boot from Windows xp or the c drive.When I select the windows xp option It starts fine. How do I make It were It dont go to that menu and automatically starts up

Actually, that might be a good thing. If you get locked out because of a boot-up problem you will still be able to access your "C" drive. In fact it would be interesting to find out the "boot.ini" file and paste it on this site so that others can have a copy...
