How to keep formatting when importing from Adobe 8 into MSWord 2007

When I open a MSWord 2007 document that I just imported from a Adobe 8 PDF file, it brings it in text boxes. Is there a way to pull a PDF into MSWord and keep the formatting without putting it in text boxes? Has anyone else experienced this problem.
