DFS compatibility

Can a Win2K server with a DFS root share have Windows 2003 servers participate as replica hosts?

I'm in the process of migrating two 24x7 Win2K servers that participate in DFS to two new Win2K3 servers. I want to pull the Win2K3 servers into the DFS replication, synch them, test them, then switch them in at a convenient time via load balancer.

However, I can't seem to get the Win2K3 servers to do the initial sync. New changes appear, but no initial mirror. Sonar shows me nothing significant except that there is no InJoinedConnections on the Win2K3 servers, whereas there is on the Win2K servers.

Any help?
