Trying to come up with a ballpark list of hardware and software needed to migrate a 350 userbase located in 5 different office locations from Novell Groupwise to Exchange/Outlook email system.
Does there have to be an exchange server onsite at each location?
If anyone has done this recently, maybe you could point me in the right direction to get some answers to my question.

Exchange
No you do not need Exchange at each location but it depends on how good the LAN speed is between the offices.
Are the offices on a good high speed network or on a low speed one?
Do you have Active Directory set up yet?
There are some good articles at:

Thank you for responding to my post. We do not have Active Directory and won't be going to that.... hmmmm .... Going to be using a device called KBox that will allow our network to look and act like Active Directory with little or no problems...that's what they say anyway. All offices are on high speed internet connections. Just trying to get an idea (if someone else had gone through the process). I've looked for articles to try and get my numbers, but so far, I haven't found much.
Thanks again....
Thanks again....

groupWise to Exchange Migration
If you need to perform groupwise to exchange migration then you definitely need to have MS Exchange Server installed at every location but groupwise to outlook migration doesn't needs exchange server, MS Outlook configuration is sufficient for it.
One such tool for groupwise to exchange migration is available at http://www.groupwise-to-exchange.com/
