I am trying to connect 2 PCs with a crossover cable. I went to Network Properties and then tried to Set up an advanced network. But the option for Direct connection is faded. Can any one tell me whats the problem?

ip addresses
i have never tried the direct connection option, but have you tried putting in ip addresses that are on the same subnet? they should see each other then.
