how to move actual tasks in microsoft project?

What do you mean by move?
You can cut and paste them or if your not sure you can copy and paste them and when you're satisfied you can delete the original tasks.

Create a copy and try it, it's just like excel really.

I really hated the crap, but I got a 1/2 hour lesson from a TAFE ICT Head last year. and

1. Left Click on the task to highlight its focus
2. Left Click and hold the mouse to activate the focus
3. Drag the row up or down and release the mouse

This is the same procedure when moving rows in Excel.
