Removing unwanted Hyperlinks

I frequently copy software hints and tips from various web sites including TechRepublic, which I use/refer to later.

An example is the "50 essential Excel tips" posted on this site. Which directed me to a site from which I am unalbe to download a .doc or PDF, or Adobe file with the tips in them. When faced with this I simply use the 'ole' cut and paste, putting the content into a new Word document. So far so good, however when the text contains many Headings or words with hyperlinks I usually want to remove these to avoid unwanted trips back onto the web later.

To remove the hyperlinks I simply:

Highlight the text.
Right click and select 'remove hyperlink'
Which works fine if you only need to remove one or two, but if there are 40+ it becomes a bit of a pain in the a**

Does anyone know a quick and easy way of removing multiple hyperlinks, without having to do it one by one?

Would really appreciate any suggestions you might come up with......

Regards

Why would you want to remove the links?
Anyway, just convert the document format into something like .txt and then you should be good to go.

it doesn't remove the actual link text, only removes the html parsing.
all the html is still there.
[ I've tried that in the past. ]

Main reason to remove links is to prevent offline users from getting stuck on a loop. through unintentional use of the links. Also users who might be using laptops on line using 'dial-up' from unintentional use and wasted time.

As for office based users I simply do not want them getting distracted by unncessary surfing of the net during work time. Dont get me wrong I am not the police and frequently do leave links intact if I believe it will add value.

easiest way
to make them not an issue, get the associated content and create a local collection of pdfs, edit the links to point to the local pdfs.

or, just edit the link properties and remove the hyperlink in the original document. MS word will do that.
