cannot ping from remote location

Our company has 2 locations. On the corporate site DNS works fine and we can ping websites. We connect to the other site via site-to-site VPN. On the remote location we are able to pull up all websites and servers internally and externally. However we cannot ping anything from the remote location. Additionally from the corporate site to the remote location, we cannot access or see their computers, but can ping to them and resolve their IPs. My question is do you think this is a windows DNS issue from the internal DNS server? Or is this a site-to-site VPN issue?
