Script to detect if vga is connected

Hi. I am a newbie to scripting. I have been using Autohotkey for some time, and are a bit familiar to that.

I have a laptop, Fuijutsu Siemens, Amilo M7400. My graphic card is Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller. When I am home, I plug in an external monitor. Acer, But when I plug the vga in, I have to manually switch to this extarnal screen by pressing ctr+alt+F1. Is there a way to automate this process, through a script, for example? So that the laptop detects when I connect this extarnal display, and then send the keystrokes ctr+alt+F1? Thank you in adwance.
