CPU and memory "sharing" for projects requiring intensive resources?

Sure, I could go out and buy a supercomputer to run intensive adobe photo editting and video authoring or converting projects, but since I already pay for file storage and backup services, I figured "Why not find a service which also includes a project computer resource outsourcing with a VNC-type interface?" The idea is that I upload many large files to the server and load them into adobe photoshop on that server in a VNC session. I set the supercomputer server network on tasks and if it takes long, then I do stuff on my computer with no tied up system resources to slow me down. What options are available on the internet for the average person to tap into super computer-caliber resources?
