Ubuntu 8.04 installation Problem

Hi All,
A colleague of mine just sent me a post about a problem with Ubuntu 8.04 server not installing on Hp ML proliant 370 G3. It kept on complaining that there is no hard disk in the system when in fact there is and in good condition too.

Your best bet is to use Xandros for this server.
What kind of hard drives have you on your server?. You might need a driver to actually load on Ubuntu.

Xandros will be better suited for this server.

Off the wall guess ...
...but if your the Proliant uses SCSI disks, there usually is a driver that has to be installed before the OS can be installed.

My advice would be to look at the Windows installation method and do everything the same way up to the point of starting Windows. Then put the Ubuntu disk in and see what happens.
