What type of drive are you trying to install. IDE or SATA?
You need to keep your hardrive with the operating system on as your Master drive. install the other harddrive as a slave on the same cable (if using IDE).

hope this helps!

what type?
What type of hard drive do you have? if you have sata Hardrive then you can simply install it on your motherboard, if you have ide type hardrive you need to set the jumper setting to slave position, refer the jumper setting on the top cover of your hardrive.
