I'm desperate and in a major hurry. I'm developing an Operations Manual that is due next week! HELP??? I have separated the Manual into SECTIONS so that the Title Page and Table of Contents will NOT have their own page numbers. So far, I have developed only two main Sections - Section 1 has 4 pages and Section 2 has 1 page. The first main section starts paging at number 1, like it's supposed to, but it says "Page 1 of 8", when there are only 4 pages in that section. The NEXT section starts off at 1 again, like it should, but even though there is actually only 1 page in that section, it still says "Page 1 of 8".
Can anyone PLEASE help me resolve this problem?

As you claim there are seven pages
I don't see what the problem is as you obviously have some data on a page on a page that you haven't noticed or you have typed on a page that is now blank and you haven't removed the page.
Are you looking at print layout?
Have you looked at print preview?
Why not just print an see where your errors are?

The Page# range refers to the entire document ...
NOT to each visible Section that you happen to be viewing.
YOU are specifying where and when the Sections occur - Word is only reporting how big the entire document is. If you insist on having a lower total page count, make each Section a different Document, but then your Contents Page(s) won't work properly.

Number Format
Change the page number format to include chapter numbers. You then have the possibility of have 1-2, 1-2, 2-1, 2-2, etc.

Restart numbering
Just set the page number properties to start at 1 on the first page of each new section. That way, the wrong numbers will only be visible at the bottom of the screen, not the page itself.
