DNS
I am running a web application on my windows 2003 server that is able to be accessed on the Internet but not on my intranet. I was told I had to setup a local or public DNS entry corresponding to port 80. Is this right and if so how would I go about doing this?

You have to setup public DNS entry witch will point to your web application.

Okay, if I understand you correctly, you have a website that you can access from everywhere, except for when you are on the same network, or LAN, as the hosting server. If that is the case you already have the public DNS record. I also assume that you are running your own internal DNS server on the LAN the website is hosted on. What you need to do is add a Host, or A, record under Forward Lookup Zones on the internal DNS server you are running. It would be setup named "www" and the destination would be the IP address of your website.
