Best Backup Method Paragon 9 home

Hi I just got a WD My Book Studio external hard drive and Paragon 9 home software. What is the best method for backing up my entire PC (Vista 64 bit) and making my HD a bootable disk.

I see I can clone or make differental backups. Whats the best and most effective method. I don't want to lose my data again as I did with WD Anywhere Software.

I like the best option for saving my entire drive and being able to backup any changes.
