Silly me I always read in the thread view this way each post I read turns grey after reading, that way it is easy to see what I have read and what I have not.
Does not seem to be working now after reading a post and returning the post stays blue, cleared all offline content cookies and such but it still leaves me at a loss.
Thoughts, comments and possible answers are welcome, thanks.

Is it me or is it TR, in thread view posts don't retain greyed status

That has just been happening for the last hour or so here
When I went to jump on TR this morning it was off line and since then the first post that I have opened in a Thread stays blue.
Though if you go back and click on it again after reading another post it goes grey.
Well for me at least so far today.

No matter what is done.
Must be something on TR and as I look at the Address Bar now it ends in =JeffCol tag which is something completely different.
Not sure what's going on but I have only noticed it since this morning after TR came back on line so I would surmise that it is something to do with a Upgrade which isn't working the way it was expected to.

I use FF, and sometimes IE at another location - but, I've
found every time I clear the browser history and cache, I loose all the grey status notations, so I've just assumed (and I could be wrong here) it's kept in the browser history on the system and not on the TR database. I started to suspect this when posts I'd read on one system didn't show as grey on another.

Is that when I use different computers to visit the TR Site I can only vote the one time on something like TROLOV.
So there has to be something on the TR Page causing this. If I was overly bothered I may even start to look to see what's going on.

That's what the logical person would use to circumvent this despicable 'One Man - One Vote' system.

I still only get the One Vote. Must be something to do with the IP Address being used but I'm not about to try changing my LAN Setup to change that either. Also I'm not going to setup a different WiFi Network to the Wireless Broadband System because it's way too expensive for the likes of me. I don't have that type of money to waste.
The other night things where really screwy and I was constantly prompted to Award a Thumb for some Discussion, the Page would redraw and no changes where present except for the Done on the screen of the system that I use IE on. So thinking that there was a glitch I reapplied the Thumb only to get the same thing again.
Several hours latter when I had gone to bed I was woken by the computers going off and telling me that I had already Voted for whatever it was so this was being ignored. Happened several times on different computers and the Browsers where shut.
Interesting if nothing else and I got beat up by SWMBO because the computers woke her up. After that I started turning off the noise to stop the Pain & Suffering. :0
I suppose I could do away with the Gateway and apply far more security but that's to much work and isn't really an option. It's far easier having the Modem feed one computer that is locked down than to have to lock down all of the internal Computers here. What can I say I'm Lazy.

Hasn't happened yet.
Some of the staff that I currently have used to call me a Perfectionist but the reality was if you do it right the first time it don't come back to make more work for you. See just how lazy I am.
I started talking about repainting the Ducati a couple of years ago and got serious about 6 weeks ago. So far I have managed to rub back all but 1 piece of Plastic and strip both Tanks back to bare metal. The One that was trashed on a Race Bike has more or less be bogged after brazing up the new holes that have appeared in it. I really should have chucked it but it's useful as a Spare.
The other one the Good One which only has 2 small dents in it one from someone who didn't do as I told them and placed it on the Side Stand on Grass and then watched it fall onto a retaining wall. The a smaller one where the same person dropped a tool onto the Tank on the same day that he allowed it to fall over and has not been seen since has some Bog in it but is not finished and I have not been able to touch either of them for at least the past 14 days. Hopefully tomorrow I can get the Bog shaped properly and undercoat both of them MayBE.
But the reality is that I'll get another call out and do nothing that I want to again this weekend.

Which when the Aussie $ was floated became completely worthless. Except for now it's worth about 0.180128 USD.
See we have almost reached parity with the Greenback so the Aussie is becoming worthwhile to own again. Pity that it's not because of the Excellent Financial Management in AU but is more the response to the Horrendous Financial Management in the rest of the world that is causing this to happen.

DECIMALISATION
The Australian currency was decimalised on 14 February 1966. The inflation calculator assumes that monetary values prior to the March quarter 1966 are denominated in pounds; with £ 1 equivalent to $2. Prior to decimalisation, currency was in the form of pounds, shillings and pence. One pound was equal to 20 shillings, one shilling was equal to 12 pence, and so one pound was equal to 240 pence.
Edit: try to fix pound symbol and to admit that I had to look it up.

Michael Jay

I forget to take them.
Not much of an Issue with the Cholesterol tab but it's a real issue when it comes to the Pain Killers that I take. Unlike most I take a tablet now for what it will do in 12 hours time as it does nothing right now and it's a real problem when I forget. Happened twice last week and on 2 days running.
As things stand I'm allowed 600 mg of this stuff per day and I take 400 mg Daily. When you forget one it requires a lot more than the 200 mg Dose spread over 50 mg tablets for the 12 hours that i need them.
The injectable stuff is at 100 mg and while effective if used IV isn't something that I'm comfortable with. I'm allergic to Stainless Steel being shoved into me. What can I say?
The quacks are even less helpful when it comes to forgetting.
And Michael while I do agree with you on the potential problems of medication on the most part it's still less of a problem to the Human Body than the damage that apprentices can and do, do to you if they are allowed to. One 800 KG Semi Gear Box did quite a lot of damage to me that is not possible to fix. Well it is at least in Theory possible to do something maybe but the risks are even more horrendous so I respectively decline the offers.
Did I mention that the Quacks really do not like me?

Did I mention that the Quacks really do not like me?

did your body catch the hefty gear box?

My body dropped it after the apprentices dropped it on me.
And to make matters even worse the Owner of the place wouldn't hold down the apprentices while I beat them up.

Apprentices are really dangerous, will never do as they are told and will try to kill anyone who tries to help them.

They just don't appreciate the risks they take, do they?

But I prefer a 24 inch Number 1 Phillips Blade it's ideal to use to nail Apprentices to walls through their necks with their feet off the ground.

The problem persists
I have learned to deal with it but it would be nice to have it fixed.
Will email Doug on Monday. Thanksgiving Holiday and all.

Back from Doug and like me he is now receiving the TR Alerts once again. I find that much more difficult to live without than the Web Site being the way that it is but it certainly does make life harder.

they had been missing, thanks for bumping my flaky memory chips, sent another email to Doug on my original problem, that still seems unfixed.

To stop us complaining. After all if they fix a worse problem we may be happy with that.

or they had to turn off the alerts to fix the RSS Alert problem.
Have not gotten that RSS Alert thing in the last alert.

But it's still early days yet I'll reserve my judgment till after I have received several more Alerts to see if they stay as they are supposed to.

With the TR Alerts coming through there seems to be some repeating of posts that I've made.
Seems that I get notified for 2 days or so about posts that I've made. Are you seeing the same?

but only when I am posting like a rabid squirrel as in FNM, you post much more than myself and I would think some overlap could happen from time to time.

I have an answer, but you won't like it
The site adds some query parameters to links only when you click on them, so the link on the page does not match what you clicked. That's why they don't look visited.
Since the query parameters are useful (site use tracking), it's unlikely they will be disabled. I will pass this on, though, to Product Development folks.

Gonna have to keep forgetting what I've read until I re-read it, I guess.
Thanks for the info, Doug. Hope you had a good Christmas, and Happy New Year to you and yours.

Looks like we'll just have to learn to live with it and by now I think most of us have.
Lets hope that all your problems this year are not quite so hard to find out what's the reason for them.
Cheers

Been using my workaround a bit, just change subscribe on each post you read seems to do the trick.
