I need a tool that can measure sustained transfer speed over the network

I need to figure out why some computers have much faster network connections than others even though they are all using the same speed LAN connection(100mb) and similar length network cables going to the same switch.

Transfer speeds
To truly get a measure of transfer speeds from different computers, you need to ensure that those computers are virtually the same. A hard drive that needs defragging will slow down network transfers. A computer with ONE MORE service running that the other, will slow down transfers. If you are talking about a magnitude of difference, then you have work to do. If you are talking about a few seconds, or 350Kbps, vs. 290Kbps, then you're worried about nothing.

What is the huge difference?
