Installing applications from server

I am curious about what applications people are using to deploy applications to Windows desktops from Windows servers. I am looking into deploying something similar to SMS Server where I can create an installation package and deploy those apps according to group membership, etc.

Has anyone used anything else and what has been your experience with the platform?
