convert vhs tapes to dvd or pc files using a capture card?
Can I convert my VHS tapes to DVDs, CDs or pc files using a USB capture card? I have never used a capture card and I don't even own one yet. I can put a tape in a VHS drive attached to our cable DVR and plug a capture card into a USB slot in the cable DVR. Don't know much else ...

Yes you can do this but it may be illegal where you are
Depending on what is on the VHS Tape. All Video Capture Devices should come with their own Software and they will explain how this is done but in case you get one with just the drivers.
You can use Power DVD Director and Power Producer from Cyberlink to achieve this though you may need to use a Shrinking application like DVD Shrink depending on the size of the Video Files that you save tot he HDD.
In the past I have use Dual Layer DVDs to copy the saved files to through DVD Creator after editing them in Power Producer. Then if more than 1 copy was required *I have used DVD Shrink to save from the Dual Layer to a Single Layer DVD.
Cyberlink Power Series is available here

for some reason, when I click on a link on a site (like the one that you just gave me with the how to), nothing happens. As I approach the link with my mouse, it changes appearance since it notices that it is over a link (normal) but clicking does nothing. I wait and wait ....
How can I fix this?
