What I had to do was unplug the Logitech USB trackball. For some reason, that allowed the Belkin kybd to work.Of course, the Repair didn't fix my issues - still all kinds of weird stuff happening. But as long as I can get my data, I'm fine - will upgrade to Win 7 soon anyhow.

I have a laptop with a damaged keyboard, so I use a USB keyboard & mouse. Am trying to repair Win XP SP2, and all is fine until it promots me for localization and for my product key. At that point, the USB keyboard and mouse stop working, and the primary keyboard is too damaged to enter the Product Key. How can I get the Win XP repair process to not unload the USB? I've tried using Shift+F10 to keep the command console open, but no luck there.
