Printer showing weird icons and symbols.

Hey, guys

I recently got an old printer (HP Deskjet 930c) from my dad. At first there were no problems at all. But after using it for a while it began printing these strange icons and symbols.

The drivers are installed and its connected to my pc using USB. Still there seems to be a problem. On the HP website it says that it might be a communication problem... I personally think differently.

Can somebody help me fix this?

Thanks in advance. Happy Newyear!

Fonts/drivers
Most of the time when I see this, it is due to a driver/font issue. You might try seeing what it is you are trying to print and see if you have the font that is being requested (if you don't, it will try to substitute characters it already has). You might need to drop in new fonts, or reinstall the print drivers.

Is it application specific?
Happy new year to you!

Is it one app that prints the gobbledegook?
Cable(s) checked?
AV/rootkit scan return negative?
Anything new installed just prior to the symptoms? (SW or HW)
