But I imagine what you are describing is known as Pooling where the Download speed from the U Tube Site is so slow that the Player runs out of data before the Video is finished.

When this happens there should be some indication of the system waiting for more to download and it will then continue to play. The reason this happens can be any of several like the Site that you are watching is very busy and they are experiencing Limited Bandwidth Issues or it just may be that your ISP has limited the Speed of Downloads from this site in an attempt to discourage people from using it.

It could also be that you just have a slow Internet Connection.

Playing streaming video requires your Internet connection to be fast as well as your PC, since the YouTube player uses both Flash and Java, which are very processor intensive technologies.

In the YouTube video window at the lower right is the resolution of the video, such as 720p, 360p, 240p. On a slower machine/connection, click on that number and select a lower resolution. A video that skips on 720p will most likely play fine at 240p.

Also, the raw speed of the web browser plays a role, as does whether your Flash and Java are working properly. If you goto Adobe.com there's a link that tests your flash version and at java.com there's a link that tests your java version.

Personally, I find that on a slow netbook, the only web browser than can stream YouTube decently is Google Chrome.

I believe your problem is you are using outdated plugins; I have seen this error before. Please make sure you are up to date with Adobe Flash.
