system configuration data read error????

hi every one.
i was working on my laptop "IBM x31" then i just hibernated it and when i started it again.it shown the problem"system configuration data read error"
press f1 for bios setup....
then i changed bios setting to default.
it starting working.
but on every restart i show the same problem.
then i do the same (bios setting to default)for going to window.
but it is still problem.
i cleaned ram changed window( I'm using xp)
but still problem even when i took out hard drive.
please help me out of this problem...

maybe the cmos battery is bad

try changing the battery or reflashing the bios.

When you reset the BIOS to the Default
Did you save the changes as you exited the BIOS?

If not then that is your answer here.

However by your description it really sounds as if whatever is used as the BIOS Battery has gone flat and needs replacing.

i always save setting and i have changed the cell as well.
but still the same.
looking for bios.
but not got still bios update.
