Well strictly speaking it's not easily possible
It would be easier to order a Recovery Set from HP for this model and pay the small fee that HP charges.

However if you must make a Disc from the Recovery Partition you can try one of the Live Linux's to attempt this though if you only have the 1 Optical Drive it will get more than a bit involved in making the Disc. You'll have to constantly swap the Boot Disc in the Optical Drive with a Blank Disc to record and then back tot he Boot Disc and then maybe once again the Blank Disc that you have started burning.

The reason why the Recovery partition is unreadable by Vista is because it's Partition Type is not readable by Windows Vista so you have a problem there to begin with. wink

Thanks for your info
Look like more work. Any idea where I will be able to get an iso image of this disk as I have the product key already.

HP makes what they call a Recovery Set
It uses a Product Key supplied to HP by M$ and normally doesn't require you to enter the Product Key on the COA. But it also doesn't cost the cost of a License it's just the Cost of Handling & Shipping the last time I ordered a Recovery Set from HP.

As Microsoft no longer supports Vista there is no OPK Install For OEM Builders that you could use so you are sort of stuck with the HP Recovery Set. wink

Use HP Tools
HP puts a folder full of basic maintenance tools on most of their consumer systems. Just browse through your programs menu looking for it and it will have a way to build a recovery disc set. Keep in mind that if someone has already done this you will have to call HP and order a set as they only allow a single set to be made from the recovery partition.
