Depends on exactly what you did here
If you formatted the entire HDD you have to contact HP and get a Recovery Set from them.
However if you just formatted the C Partition you can use the Recovery Partition to rebuild the Installed Software on the system.
How you access the Recovery partition depends on which HP Product you have so you should read the Instruction Manual on how to Reinstall the OS.
If you no longer have the Instruction or Owners Manual you can download it from HP here

Left Click on Product Support and search for your Model Owners Manual.

you should get the recovery disks, you may be able to talk them into sending them to you for free,
